A vanishing-edge wall lowered to a precise weir so water sheets over it into a catch basin below, visually merging the pool surface with the landscape behind.

The effect needs a view or a drop behind the pool — it's the signature of sloping sites. Hydraulically it's a one-sided overflow system.
